Purpose

Incorporated in 1993, the Granite Educational Enrichment Foundation, Inc. (“GEEF”) is a non-profit 501(c)(3), community organization whose purpose is exclusively educational and charitable. It’s main drive is to secure and distribute contributions from individuals, corporations, and foundations for the benefit of the students in the Granite, Oklahoma, Public Schools.

Excellence in education is not only important for youth but vital to the progress, economic development, and diversification of the community of Granite. The Foundation establishes a vehicle for citizens, alumni, and friends of the community to make a lasting contribution by providing educational resources for our school system above and beyond that which is received from state appropriations.

Why

Invest in Granite students to prepare them to be productive citizens. We are a small school with BIG dreams. Our rural setting allows for small class sizes for more one on one educational opportunities. Our goal is to assist in creating the best educational opportunities for all students that walk the halls of Granite Public Schools.

Granite, Oklahoma is our hometown. Granite Public Schools is a consolidation of Brinkman, Lake Creek, Liberty, Ozark, Willow, and Granite schools. It is where we were given invaluable lessons in learning, in academics as well as social skills. A “rock solid” foundation so to speak! This small, rural town and school still has priceless knowledge to share. Granite Educational Enrichment Foundation works to expand what Granite Public Schools can offer to the students and community in the twenty-first century. Whether it is technology, trade skills or college preparation we are working to assist in delivering the environment, equipment, and training necessary to achieve these goals.

Where

The Town of Granite, nestled under a lighted mountain cross, was incorporated in 1900, at the base of Headquarters and Walsh Mountains on the Western end of the Wichita Mountain Complex in SW Oklahoma. Each year, our town happily displays Oklahoma’s oldest and most iconic “Largest Christmas Tree” which can be seen from many miles around. Cattle brought people to this area that was first occupied by the Kiowa, Comanche, and Apache Tribes. Cattle drives have been replaced by expansive farming and ranching operations. Granite stone processing of monuments has drawn business from all over the United States.  The Oklahoma State Reformatory has been a large employer since 1909 and is located at the East end of town. We are located within 10 miles of Quartz Mountain State Lodge and Lake Lugert which brings many welcomed visitors to our community.

Granite Public Schools is proud of its many accolades beginning with maintaining excellence in its educators and staff. Over the years, we have won numerous competitions at Southwestern Interscholastic Meets, National FFA and 4-H Awards, State Championships in Baseball and Basketball, Jr. World Championship Rodeo participants, and Superior rankings in choral competitions. We have educated a wide range of talent from technicians to religious leaders, military to executives, housewives to small business owners, judges to sports figures and the list goes on!

Panther Alumni and Friends

Granite Panthers are competitive and fiercely loyal. We pride ourselves in being the Best of the Best! We meet on an annual basis around High School graduation to fellowship, share memories, celebrate, and EAT!  Although we may have scattered around the globe after leaving the den, our hearts are always home in Southwest Oklahoma.

GEEF appreciates the generous support of many fellow Panthers since its inception.  It is our sincere desire that while we pursue our mission to improve education, we also hope to reignite past friendships and bolster the bond of our alumni and friends through our endeavors.
